IIT Guwahati is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of IPR Chair Professor in the project titled “Establishment of IPR Cell”, purely on a contractual basis in the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell.

Eligibility Criteria
An individual will be eligible to be appointed as an IPR Chair if he/she meets any of the following:

Option 1: Has served or is eligible to serve as a Professor/Associate Professor as per UGC norms with sufficient teaching and research experience in IPR.

Option 2: Is an IP attorney with at least 10 years of practice in IPR law or any professional with 10 years of recognized experience in the IPR field.

Option 3: A retired official from the IP Office under CGPDTM with a doctorate degree and minimum 5 years of experience at Level 12 or above (e.g., Controller of Patents & Designs, Registrar of Trademark, etc.).
Key Responsibilities

Design curriculum and conduct IPR courses for UG and advanced courses for doctoral/post-doctoral students.

Develop training material, patent drafting content, and knowledge resources.

Build a repertoire of IPR knowledge and tools such as:

Info sheets on IPR firms

Flyers, brochures, and leaflets

Instructional literature
-
Digital and printed course content
-

Support IPR Cell operations and participate in DIPP-commissioned studies.
