Applications are invited for recruitment to 282 medical positions in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) in 2026.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts of Super Specialist Medical Officers, Specialist Medical Officers and Medical Officers for the Central Armed Police Forces (BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB) and Assam Rifles under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Super Specialist Medical Officer (Second-in-Command)
Candidates must possess:
A recognized MBBS degree or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution included in the First Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
Enrollment in a State Medical Register maintained under the relevant Act.
Completion of compulsory rotating internship.
A Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in the relevant specialty.
DM/M.Ch. or equivalent qualification in the concerned super-specialty with 3 years of experience in the concerned super-specialty after obtaining the first postgraduate degree. Senior Residency experience will also be counted, subject to the prescribed conditions.
Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.
2. Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant)
Candidates must possess:
A recognized medical qualification in the Allopathic system of medicine included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, as applicable.
Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.
Completion of compulsory rotating internship.
A Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in the concerned specialty.
The prescribed post-PG experience in the concerned specialty, as specified in the official recruitment notification.
3. Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant)
Candidates must possess:
A recognized medical qualification in the Allopathic system of medicine included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, as applicable.
Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.
Completion of compulsory rotating internship.
Candidates who are undergoing compulsory rotating internship may also be eligible to apply and appear for the interview, provided they satisfactorily complete the internship before appointment if selected.
