Assam Career : The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has announced a massive recruitment drive for the year 2026, inviting applications from eligible male candidates to fill 899 vacant positions in the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF).

Vacancy Distribution & Monthly Fees

The 899 vacancies are spread across various technical, administrative, and mechanical trades. Below is the post-wise breakdown along with the applicable application fees:

Trade-Wise Eligibility Criteria

1. Store Keeper Technical (SKT)

• Education: 10+2 pass from a recognized Board or equivalent.

• Core Requirement: Must possess store-keeping knowledge relating to vehicles or engineering equipment.

2. Operator Communication

• Education: Matriculation (Class 10) pass or equivalent.

• Technical: Wireless Operator or Radio Mechanic Certificate from an ITI; OR Defence Trade Certificate from an Army Institute with knowledge of Radio Technology; OR passed Class I Course for Wireless Operator and Key Board as laid down in Defence Service Regulations.

3. Operator Excavating Machinery (OEM) (Ordinary Grade)

• Education: Matriculation (Class 10) pass or equivalent.

• Technical: Must possess a Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license; OR a driving license for Dozer/Excavator along with 6 months of operational experience; OR passed Class II Course of Operator Excavating Machinery as per Defence Service Regulations.

4. Electrician

• Education: Matriculation (Class 10) pass or equivalent.

• Technical: Auto Electrician certificate from an ITI or equivalent along with 1 year of experience as an Electrician; OR passed Electrician Class 2 Course as per Defence Service Regulations.

5. Draughtsman

• Education: 10+2 with Science subjects from a recognized Board.

• Technical: 2 years Certificate in Architecture or Draughtsmanship; OR a 2 years National Trade Certificate for Draughtsman (Civil) from a recognized Institute with 1 year of practical field experience.

6. Hindi Typist

• Education: 10+2 pass from a recognized Board or equivalent.

• Skill Test: A minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute (wpm) in Hindi on a computer (equivalent to 9000 KDPH).

How to Apply (Offline Postal Process)

BRO follows a strict, conventional offline application structure. Candidates must carefully compile their physical paperwork to prevent disqualification.

1. Form Printing: Download the prescribed application form and admit card from the official website www.bro.gov.in. Print the application form on good quality A4 size bond paper (75 GSM) using one side only. The admit card layout must be printed on both sides of a single sheet.

2. Photos & Signatures: Paste recent passport-size photographs (not older than 3 months) at the designated spaces and sign across them where required.

3. Enclosures: Attach self-attested or Gazetted Officer-attested photocopies of your proof of residence, educational certificates, date of birth proof, ITI/Driving licenses, and caste/EWS certificates (if claiming relaxation).

4. Addressing the Envelope: Place all documents inside a secure envelope. Clearly superscribe the envelope with the Advertisement Number, Date, and the Trade/Post applied for.

5. Postal Mailing Address: Send the complete application packet exclusively via postal services to the following address:
