Assam Career : The National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), a premier institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), is inviting applications for specialized project-based roles. This 2026 recruitment drive is for the PPVFRA-funded project titled “Establishment and Management of the Field Gene Bank (FGB) for maintenance of registered varieties.”

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates in Agricultural Sciences and allied fields to contribute to the preservation of India's plant genetic diversity at the Field Gene Bank.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Young Professional-I

• Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and allied Sciences, Horticulture, Forestry, or Agroforestry.

• Desirable: Prior experience in the characterization and field evaluation of tree germplasm.

2. Field Assistant

• Essential Qualification: Graduate in any discipline.

• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in handling field experiments in agricultural sciences or field evaluation of germplasm.
